Fallout 76 Gets Chunky on PS4: A Gamer’s Guide

Fallout 76 gets chunky ps4

A recent update for Fallout 76 fixes several significant stability problems with PlayStation consoles. Even though there are no longer as many crashes in the game as there were in the previous weeks, Fallout 76 Gets Chunky on PS4 is already requesting more updates.

For some time now, Sony’s consoles have been plagued by stability problems with Bethesda’s live-service role-playing game. When a large number of PS4 players discovered they were unable to finish even a single instance of the then-running Invaders from Beyond event—which was renowned for its massive enemy quantities—the number of complaints regarding Fallout 76 PlayStation crashes surged in late April 2024. It wasn’t much better on the PS5, apparently, with multiple user reports indicating that Invaders from Beyond was crashing on the Xbox One as well.

Fallout 76 Gets Chunky on PS4 Is Now More Stable

To implement a “small update,” Bethesda took the game’s PlayStation servers offline on June 21. The update included several performance and stability improvements. According to early player reports, this patch greatly enhanced Fallout 76’s performance on the PS4 and PS5.

One of the reported changes is that the game will no longer crash to the infamous PlayStation blue screen of death, which merely displays the message “An error has occurred in the following application.” This is about vendor menu opening. On June 12, the Fallout 76 Season 17 update included this specific problem.

Fallout 76 Update Version 1.7.11.12 Patch Notes

  • Resolved an issue that caused Power Armor to be listed in English rather than the appropriate localized language.
  • Resolved a problem where the Garrahan Mining Poster was missing from the Opportunity Knocking at Camden Park or Rusty Pick: A bug that could have made the quest vanish after logging had been fixed.
  • It is now possible to create the Deep Space Alien Jetpack for the T51 Power Armor.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed the player to ask Abbie Russo a question about Vin that didn’t match the answers in Sins of the Father.

  • fixed a bug that prevented some players from accessing the gold bullion vendors Smiley and Regs after finishing Secrets Revealed.
  • The T-45 standard Stats, Weight, Levels, and Description for the Father Winter Helmet should now be present.
  • It is not possible to install fixed weather stations in a camp workshop that is close to a public workshop.
  • Several paints that were no longer updating the dynamic name of Power Armor pieces that had been modified have been fixed.

Weapons

Dev Note: Because of a bug in the way damage was calculated during its explosion, the Cremator was released stronger than we had intended. Players with specific mods and perks on it inflicted far more damage than was planned. We’ve fixed the bug that was causing the damage for that particular setup to decrease, but we also made several other adjustments to buff it in different ways. At this point, the Damage Over Time (DoT) ought to be a serious player.

Conclusion

Updates that addressed persistent crashes and improved gameplay performance have made Fallout 76 on PlayStation consoles more stable. All platforms continue to receive requests for updates despite early fixes, which emphasize player engagement and the dynamic nature of live-service gaming.
