Visions of Mana: Release Date, Plot, and Gameplay

visions of mana

A new action role-playing game called Visions of Mana is being developed by Ouka Studios and released by Square Enix for Windows, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. It is set for global release on August 29, 2024, and is the fifth main title in the Mana series.

The first mainline game in the series to be released since Dawn of Mana in 2006, it was first announced in 2021. Producer Masaru Oyamada, composers Hiroki Kikuta, Tsuyoshi Sekito, and Ryo Yamazaki, as well as series designer/director Koichi Ishii, will all be returning.

Visions of Mana Gameplay

We saw a trailer showcasing never-before-seen gameplay mechanics in March 2024. You can alternate between the three party members in battle; they each have unique skills. With her dragon friend by her side, Careena is a mage-like girl with wings who can use spells to support her allies or smash away at enemies.

While another ally, Morley, uses his sheer speed to overwhelm enemies with massive combos, Val slashes with a massive sword.

Val seems to be able to move around with the help of abilities because, in a previous trailer, we saw him utilize his flying ability. This propels him up onto a nearby ledge or into a massive bubble that envelops him and allows him to breathe within. Characters have jumped over gaps to get past obstacles like big holes in the ground more recently.

In the same teaser, a second boss—a massive praying mantis decked out in armor and gauntlets—was shown. Val appears to break it when he slashes at its thorax, but it appears that spell users can also use the power of the elements to freeze it in place, rendering it dormant for a brief period.

That is all the information we currently have regarding the release date and story and gameplay of Visions of Mana. Check out the best PC RPGs and all the upcoming games we’re looking forward to in the interim.
