Story
There is a lot of curiosity in the Unknown 9 Awakening narrative. You take on the part of Haroona, a young child who possesses some supernatural powers. The capacity to wander into the Fold, a mystery dimension that overlaps our own, is what makes her a “Quaestor born.” You and your tutor, Reikha, are sent to stop Vincent at the start of the game.
One of Reikha’s former “students,” Vincent, has gone rogue and is seeking to use the Fold’s power for his gain. As we’ve seen a hundred times before, Vincent defeats you, murders Reikha, and you set out to exact retribution.
You will encounter the Leap Year Society (LYS) along the way, who have been trying to stop Vincent. Although you don’t trust them at first, you wind up cooperating with them to achieve a shared objective.
I don’t want to go into too much detail because that would be a spoiler zone, but I found it enjoyable to explore the Fold, which is the story’s twist. Even though the game had the typical storyline twists, I thought the tale was told in a really interesting and novel way. Even the cheeky parts of the novel were enjoyable to me because I am a sucker for science fiction and fantasy literature.
Graphics and Performance
Unknown 9 Awakening lacks a distinct sense of identity about its surroundings, despite having a nice appearance. I quickly looked at the game and saw that it was created with Unreal Engine 5, which is not a good thing. Most of it felt unstyled, though there were a few lovely areas. Other than that, the character expressions in the game are awful and show very little emotional reflection. Although I could have put up with it in a really big game or one from the 2010s, a tiny, linear, story-driven game shouldn’t be exempt from this.
Performance-wise, the game saw frequent frame dips when moving between battles or when entering a visually appealing region, and this isn’t even using the highest graphics settings with RTX turned off. For most of the game, my frame rate was in the 70s to 80s, so I was upset when it fell to 30 or even 15 frames per second. The fact that my RTX 40 series card can easily run more demanding games at higher settings is the most bothersome feature.

Unknown 9 Game is an ambitious title that blends an intriguing narrative with supernatural elements and action-packed gameplay. While the story captivates with its unique twists, technical issues like frame drops and underwhelming graphics affect the overall experience. Fans of sci-fi and mystery might find it worthwhile despite its shortcomings.
