Ghost of Yotei Story

Although the plot of Ghost of Yotei is still mostly unknown, the trailer teases some interesting possibilities. People travel to the North of Japan, according to an enigmatic figure, “to disappear,” but it’s implied that the main character Atsu is searching for something, or maybe someone, and that’s why “every Ronin here is after you.” It appears that as we delve deeper into Atsu’s narrative, we will be pursued. We’ll have to wait for official answers regarding the plot, but the trailer makes us wonder what’s in store.

Ghost of Yotei Release Date Speculation

Ghost of Yotei is currently set to be released in 2025; Sucker Punch has only revealed the anticipated release year thus far. Given that the official announcement was made recently, it may be some time before we know the release date with greater precision. As of now, Ghost of Yotei is only available for the PlayStation 5. Ghost of Tsushima was eventually released for PC, though this is not confirmed. This suggests that the sequel may do the same and be released on PC later.

Can I pre-order Ghost of Yotei?

Ghost of Yotei pre-orders for the PS5 are not yet available digitally or physically, but it’s still a good idea to keep an eye out for announcements, particularly as the launch window for 2025 approaches. If Ghost of Tsushima is any indication, additional pre-order bonuses might be forthcoming.

Ghost of Yotei Trailer

Our first look at Ghost of Yotei comes from the official announcement trailer, which you can watch above. It features stunning landscapes, bloodstained snow, an ominous-looking wolf, and the introduction of the new protagonist who will be heading the next adventure.

Ghost of Yotei Setting

Additionally, Sucker Punch disclosed that the events of Jin’s journey in Ghost of Tsushima in 1603 will occur more than 300 years later in Ghost of Yotei. “As per the blog, the story takes place in the vicinity of Mount Yotei, which is a majestic peak located in the heart of Ezo, which is currently known as Hokkaido in Japan.”

Interestingly, the location will be “a far cry from the organized samurai clans who lived in Tsushima,” despite being home to “unexpected dangers.” The backdrop of the sequel appears to be very picturesque and detailed, with wide-open grassy fields and wintry landscapes, based on what we’ve seen so far.

Ghost of Yōtei Platforms

Ghost of Yōtei platforms do not support the PS4; only the PS5 will be supported in 2025. It may eventually make its way to the PC, much like many of PlayStation’s first-party games, but that will still be some time in the future. As we’ve seen with God of War, God of War Ragnarok, The Last of Us Part 1, Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Horizon Forbidden West, many PlayStation games eventually make their way to the PC, even though Ghost of Yōtei’s PC release isn’t confirmed.

Conclusion

With a captivating plot set in northern Japan, breathtaking scenery, and a new protagonist, Ghost of Yotei promises to be an exciting continuation of the Ghost of Tsushima saga. With a 2025 release date and a PlayStation 5 version, fans are eagerly awaiting more details as pre-orders and teasers for this exciting sequel increase.
